
Organized by ITU Faculty of Architecture with the support of Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) and IBB Miras, the “a[TRH] Augmented Thresholds: Sustaining Architectural Heritage of Istanbul Land Walls” event will be organized as online seminars (March-June ’25) and face-to-face workshops (19-27 July ’25/ Istanbul), with participation from University of Granada, University of Porto, University of Applied Sciences Nysa, Technical University of Madrid and Politecnico di Milano. This event aims to develop an interdisciplinary approach for the preservation and transfer to a sustainable future of Istanbul Land Walls. The workshop will address issues such as the digitalization of architectural and archaeological heritage, supporting the Karasurları with gamification methods, addressing the Land Walls at an environmental and urban scales, evaluating them within the perspective of a circular economy, and strengthening them as a threshold in a periodic and functional context. The event aims to strengthen international cooperation while offering innovative approaches to the preservation of the Istanbul Land Walls.
ITU Faculty of Architecture students can apply by filling out the form from the link below until 7 March 2025. Due to the limited participation, student selection will be made by evaluating the applications. Participation is open to all departments’ 3rd and 4th year undergraduate and graduate students, 4 ECTS will be received upon completion.
